Editing methods
I use the "Track Changes" function in Microsoft Word to edit documents and provide feedback. "Track Changes" allows for efficient and organised editing, and it also provides an effective way for authors to see and understand my edits.
Following editing, authors will receive two files:
The "Edited" file contains all the proposed changes to the document.
The "Final" file contains only the edited text (i.e., all changes have been accepted and only comments remain).
The author(s) should read both files carefully to understand the proposed changes and to ensure that the original meaning has been retained.
An example of the copy-editing process is shown below. Please note that documents submitted for developmental and scientific editing will undergo more substantial changes (see Services and Pricing for more details)
